The biological characteristics of Tremella The classification of Tremella belongs to Eumycota, Basidiomycetes, Tremellales, Tremellaceae, Tremella, and it belongs to moderate temperature and aerobic fungi. Mainly distributed in the subtropical zone, but also in the tropical, temperate and frigid zones. The optimum temperature for the growth of tremella hyphae and fruiting bodies is 22~26oC, and the optimum pH is 5.2~5.8. Under the light conditions of 50~600Lx, the growth and development of tremella fruiting bodies is good. Tremella has a weak ability to directly utilize cellulose and lignin, and it depends on its associated bacteria to decompose macromolecular compounds and take nutrients from it. Tremella can utilize carbon sources such as glucose, sucrose, maltose, galactose, mannose, xylose, cellobiose, ethanol and sodium acetate, and organic nitrogen such as peptone, ammonium nitrogen, and ammonium sulfate. There have been many reports on the classification of Tremella, life history, living conditions, etc.
